China has released a new global 30m resolution landcover data set for ca 2010. From the first glimpse looks better than Globcover, even CIMMYT’s research station in Sonora is properly classified as artificial surface and towns that were absent in Globcover. User registration and login work well but still waiting for the download links for the the actual tiles.
Hope enough of you can try this out so we can see if its worth using broadly but seems promising.
